The Building Inspector is asking to please do not forget to notify him of inspections as required by code. He thanks everyone for their cooperation and understanding.
The below is the new policy for Building Permits effective as of 12/21/2021
- Building Permits are valid for 180 days and require a final inspection prior to being closed out. Permits may be extended without additional fees by contacting the Building Inspector. An applicant’s failure to either extend or close out a permit within 180 days shall result in a late fee of $50 assessed every 90 days.
- For homeowners/applicants with ongoing projects without a permit fee will be Building Permit Fee x 2
- For homeowner/applicants who are looking to obtain a permit for work already completed without the necessary permits:
- Through December 31, 2021 normal permit fees apply. An After The Fact, (ATF) application is required to allow the applicable inspections to be completed by the town inspectors and close out the permit with the final inspection. Commencing January 1, 2022 an after the fact application will be at the cost of the Building Permit Fee x 2.

Building permit costs are $.50/sq ft for finished areas and $.10/sq ft for un-finished areas.
*** UPDATE*** As of January 1, 2023 the base permit fee shall now be $75.00.
