TOWN OF KENSINGTON
BOARD OF SELECTMEN
MEETING MINUTES
Approved December 17, 2007
In attendance: Richard Powers and Michael Motherway. Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm. Stefanie Johnstone arrived at 7:35 pm.
DEPARTMENT HEADS:
Building Inspector – Bill Grant presented four permits: two for Davlynn Development for new construction at 8 and 9 Hudson Drive; DeBross Builders for new construction at 7 Hoosac Rd.; and MacArthur, 174 South Road for a 200 sq. ft. shed. Mr. Grant agreed with returning driveway permit responsibilities to the Road Manager.
At this point, Richard Powers moved to meet with Town Counsel, Douglas Mansfield, for advice, seconded by Michael Motherway with Powers, Johnstone and Motherway voting in favor. This portion was not taped and there were no motions or votes made nor votes taken. Richard Powers moved to return to regular session, seconded by Michael Motherway with Powers, Johnstone and Motherway voting in favor.
Police Department – Chief Wayne Sheehan announced that Officer Roy Jones has graduated from the Academy and will be starting regular shifts. Officer Scott Cain will be attending the Academy for three months starting in January.
NEW BUSINESS:
Grange Hall – Bids for work are being obtained. Denise will get an estimate for the cost to provide minimal heat in the kitchen area.
Dog Ordinance – postponed.
Debco Realty Trust – Bond reduction request and engineering fees – Town Counsel is waiting to hear from their Attorney.
OLD BUSINESS:
Policy regarding copying tapes – Richard Powers moved to approve as written, seconded by Michael Motherway with all in favor.
Town Park – postponed
OTHER BUSINESS:
Budget Reviews - postponed
Hazard Mitigation Plan – Michael Motherway moved to accept the 2007 Hazard Mitigation Plan as written, seconded by Stefanie Johnstone with all in favor. Richard Powers signed as chair and will sign the resolution page when ready.
Election Warrant – Signed by the Board. The date for the primary election will be January 8, 2008.
Bills were signed. Stefanie Johnstone moved to adjourn at 10:00 pm, seconded by Michael Motherway with all in favor.
