TOWN OF KENSINGTON
BOARD OF SELECTMEN’S WORK SESSION
5:00 p.m.

Work session began at 5:00 pm at the Town Park.
In attendance were Bruce Cilley, Michael Del Sesto, Stefanie
Johnstone, Rich Powers, Dave Buxton, and Mike Motherway.
We walked the site to review trees cut this past week and review what remaining
cutting will take place in the coming week. The contractor should be done this
week with the initial cutting. Debris will be removed. The summer camp will be
held at the park next
week. Bruce is going to straighten up the grading in the play area. Erosion
control will be addressed shortly. It was agreed that the proper erosion
control will be in place before any further work is
done.
The group discussed the procedure going forward. It was agreed that Town
regulations would be followed unless a change was approved by the Board of
Selectmen in advance. Michael and Bruce will be the point of contact with the
contractors once work begins. We will meet as a group at least once weekly
during construction to review. Any changes in the plan will need to be brought
to the committee and approved before taking place. It was agreed we may need to
meet on short notice during construction to keep the flow of work moving. The
BoS will post meeting notices more frequently during construction.
HBLA plans to submit the amendment package to DES for approval on Friday of
this week. Once that gets approved the committee will meet to review the bid package
and include any requirements needed of contractors who submit bids. We
emphasized the need to get proper documentation in place in advance of work
being done.
Design considerations for items like play area equipment, kitchen, ... will
need to be addressed in late August.
Bruce was designated the 5th trustee. All 5 are now in place.
