AS OF THE FEBRUARY 4, 2013 SELECTMEN'S MEETING, Trash and Recycling Pickup will follow the Kensington Elementary school closings. If school is canceled, trash/recycling will be delayed one day. The pickup is not affected by 2 hour delays, or school cancellations/delays unrelated to inclement weather.

We will be switching to single stream recycling. Paper/Cardboard and Plastic/Glass will be picked up together. Collection will not be made if there is a 5th Tuesday in a month.

Just a friendly reminder to please remove the caps from
bottles/plastic containers you recycle. With the caps
off the bottles will compress which allows room for
more, thus saving an extra truck trip to the recycling

Please Note - Trash Sticker Increase:
Trash sticker cost has increased to $2.00 per sticker by
order of the Board of Selectmen, effective March 10,
2009 and can be purchased either at the town hall or the
library. This is necessary in order to cover the
disposal costs for recycling for the coming year which
were not known at the time the budget was finalized. The
Selectmen ask that you recycle as much as possible,
however, since the costs to dispose of recyclable
material is significantly less than trash. Decreasing
trash tonnage at $66.42/ton will allow those funds to be
applied to the recycling costs, which at the moment are
running $20/ton for paper and $35/ton for recycling.
Additionally, B & S Disposal has been asked to not pick
up any trash not complying with the 32 gal. per sticker
Rubbish pick up will remain the same, every Tuesday all
items must be curbside by 6:30 am. Waste must be
contained in plastic bags or trash barrels not to exceed
a capacity of 32 gals and/or a weight not to exceed 50
pounds. Each 32 gallon container/bag must have a
Kensington trash sticker affixed to it. For barrels,
stickers need to be affixed to the top item not to the
barrel. Items exceeding the size or weight limits,
missing stickers, or otherwise not complying, will not
be picked up. Construction debris is not acceptable waste. Please dispose of construction debris and hazardous waste properly. The town offers a hazardous waste collection day twice per year, usually in May and September. Any resident who plans on placing more than six barrels or trash bags at the curb for pickup is requested to contact Lynne at the town office prior to trash collection day. items at the Raymond Transfer Station. Disposal of these
bulk items will require a payment of fees. Please click

Directions - take Route 107N to Raymond. You'll go
through the Fremont town center and a few miles beyond
that, there will be a ball field on your left. To the
right will be Prescott Rd. Take that right and continue
to the transfer station.
