Kensington Cemetery
Proposed amendments to include Green Burials in Kensington
CEMETERY TRUSTEES
The Cemetery Trustees are responsible for the care and maintenance of all municipal cemeteries in the town of Kensington, consisting of the Lower Yard, Dearborn Annex, and Upper Yard cemeteries.
Those seeking to arrange an interment in one of Kensington's cemeteries must fill out the appropriate forms:
- If you are arranging a burial in an established cemetery plot, you must present documentation of Right to Burial or fill out the Burial Rights Claim Form.
- If you are seeking to open a new cemetery plot, you must fill out the New Plot Establishment Form.
- All burials require a Burial Record form.
- If you own the Right to Burial in a Kensington cemetery plot and wish to designate who may be interred there in the future, you may use the Burial Permission Form.
- The trustees recommend that a donation of $200 to a Perpetual Care & Good of the Cemetery Trust be made with each burial. These donations are voluntary. To donate, fill out the Perpetual Care & Good of the Cemetery Form.
All interments, whether of whole or cremated remains, must be approved by the Cemetery Trustees before they take place. Any excavation must be made by a contractor approved by the Cemetery Trustees.
