Kensington Community Power Committee

 

The Kensington Community Power Committee was established on October 16, 2023, according to RSA 53-E to develop and aggregation plan for the Town of Kensington.  As laid out in community power aggregation law (RSA 53-E), a Town that wishes to implement power aggregation must first establish and Electric Aggregation Committee to develop and aggregation plan for its community.

 

 

Mission and Charge approved by the Board of Selectmen on October 30, 2023

Mission Statement:

"The Mission of the Kensington Community Power Committee is to investigate community power aggregation for the Town of Kensington, present to the Select Board an Energy Aggregation Plan for subsequent approval at Town Meeting by citizen's vote, and, as needed, assist the Town in its implementation."
 
Committee Charge:

- Investigate how Kensington might benefit from a Community Power program
   using such resources as --- Clean Energy New Hampshire
- Assist in educating the public about community power
- Reach out to energy brokers to learn about their services and fees
- Reach out to other NH towns that have launched CP programs
- Receive and analyze appropriate electrical usage data from Unitil
- Consider the advantages and disadvantages of regional and statewide
  collaboration in developing community power aggregation
- Provide for public hearings prior to drafting any Energy Aggregation Plan (EAP)
- Develop a Draft Energy Aggregation Plan for consideration by the Select Board
  and the Legislative Body
